AESTHETIC CORRECTION OF A MICRODONTIC TOOTH USING DIRECT COMPOSITE RESIN TECHNIQUE

Abstract

Background: Microdontia is of the commonest developmental anomaly affecting dentition. Most common is lateral incisors. Most conservative aesthetic treatment approach is composite resin restorations. Case report: A 12 year old male with microdontia in relation to left maxillary lateral incisor and Ellis class 2 trauma in relation to maxillary right central incisor. An esthetic correction of both teeth was done by putty index assisted composite resin restoration. Conclusion: The most conservative and esthetic restorative option for microdontic and traumatic anterior teeth is composite resin restorations.
