Abstract

To present a case of Class II division 1 malocclusion in which growth modulation and driftodontics was carried out simultaneously thus achieving skeletal and dental corrections at the same time. An 11year old male patient presented with a Class II division 1 malocclusion and a supplemental maxillary lateral incisor in the right quadrant. This led to decreased space for eruption of maxillary left canine. Interceptive orthodontics using Frankel 2 was planned after extracting one supplemental lateral incisor. Stepwise advancement was carried out. After treatment with Frankel 2 appliance, the patient had a super class I molar relationship bilaterally, the midlines were almost matching and there was adequate space created for the eruption of maxillary left canine
