Abstract

Maxillofacial defect leaves a deep-rooted effect on patient. One of the critical stages in rehabilitation of maxillary defect is making an impression. Impression making in a patient with anterior maxillary defect with cleft lip, cleft palate and velopharyngeal insufficiency is a challenge for a dental surgeon. This article highlights the innovative and a simplified impression technique for recording such defects. The palatal sectional impression was secured to the full arch impression with the help of pins to get a three-dimensional replica of the defect and an accurate study model prior to surgical planning.
