A PLEASING ESTHETIC SOLUTION: A CASE REPORT ON IMMEDIATE COMPLETE DENTURE

In an era of both conservative and preventive dentistry, patients’ original tooth can be replicated and can immediately get the replacement of their edentulous state. Patients increasing demand for natural resemblance of the lost teeth has become challenging to the dentist. Preserved pre-extraction records help in the evaluation. These records are used in the fabrication of immediate or definitive prosthesis that replaces lost natural tooth and tissue structures. Immediate complete denture is an accepted method of restoration for the patient whose last teeth are to be removed. The denture is fabricated and inserted soon after the removal of last tooth. Along with many advantages that include preservation of patients’ natural appearance, it offers a smooth transition from natural teeth to a prosthodontic restoration. A patient was treated, who reported to the department of prosthodontics. Patient presented with multiple teeth with poor prognosis, and was treated with an immediate denture. Immediate denture greatly affects the patients appearance and psychology. Immediate denture has many complexities and has lot of special consideration. However, an immediate denture provides restoration of esthetics, mastication, and phonetics immediately. The key to success of an immediate denture can be achieved with proper treatment planning and adequate follow-up.
